Since I talked about the warm weather in my last post, it seemed only fitting that I should supply you with an important update….OMG, they declared Ice Out on Lake Minnetonka just after midnight last Thursday for St. Patty’s day. This is the second-earliest date on record (the earliest was March 11th, back in 1878!)
FYI: the winner of the free kayak from Maynards won with a long shot guess of March 17th, 3:17am!
In other news – As in REAL ESTATE news – Here are a few tidbits to keep in mind this spring:
- I have eager buyers that probably want your home! The number of available homes for sale still cannot keep up with buyer demand…especially in high demand areas!
- Keep an eye on interest rates, there will be more movement up and down in 2016.
- New construction is still ramping up. Even though the Parade of Homes officially ends today, there is still much available, but many are paying a premium price due to lack of existing homes to choose from.
- For you 1st time homebuyers, the FHA loan limit for Hennepin County is $326,600. Also, it is still much cheaper to own than rent in MN!
Hopefully my next post will be from our tropical spring break destination, but in the meantime, if I can help you with your home needs in any way, just give me a call!
