In late spring of 2013 I found myself getting ready to enter a new and different lifestyle. My husband died in October 2009 and after four years of caring for a rather large house and nearly one acre yard I decided it was time for me to sell the house. As to where I would go, whether I would buy or rent was yet to be decided. At some point I have decide what kind of help I would need and where would I go for that help. I had a son who had recently both sold and bought a house so, of course, I sought his advice. He had used the services of Edina Realty with the agent being Steve Rod. I began quite a journey working with Steve. Never mind I continued to call him Rod since that seemed like a logical first name! He didn’t really care as long as we could work together and get the job done.
The next few months was a trying time for me, after all I had lived in my house for 42 years and making a decision to move onto another life style was rather daunting! All through the many trials and tribulations there was never a time when Steve was not understanding, caring, thoughtful and always had my needs in mind. He was a great student of “reading who his client was and what was important for them.” I looked at many different types of houses, condos etc and each time Steve was able to discern if it would be a fit for me. He could easily discern if a particular place, I may have liked and would perhaps consider purchasing, was right for me or, he always found a very appropriate way to suggest we should keep looking. He was always available to me whenever I had questions, and gave excellent advice as far as financial issues needed to be addressed or tell me things I should consider doing when my lack of experience showed through. He was very patient when it came to making suggestions as to what changes would be most helpful in making my house be less “dated” looking and yet not suggesting I should spend a lot of money updating it. In the end he sold my house and he helped me purchase a condo. It has proved to be a great experience for me and the process was made easy for me with the end result being a win/win for everyone.
All this is to say I would highly recommend Steve Rod as a reality agent to anyone who needs the kind of services Steve can provide. It may be as simple as seeking initial advice on what a person should or should not do as to having him sell your home and helping you decided your next step. It is a real plus that Edina Reality has Steve Rod as one of their agents and a real plus that they choose people of Steve’s caliber to represent their firm.
Thanks you for a wonderful experience Steve. I was indeed a pleasure working with you. I should also mention that other people in the firm who were assisting you I various duties were every bit as professional as you. I would suspect you would accept or expect nothing less.
